GDG DevFests are large, community-run events that can offer speaker sessions across multiple product areas, all-day hack-a-thons, code labs, and more. In 2016, the official DevFest Season runs from September 01st through November 30th. Each GDG DevFest will be inspired by and uniquely tailored to the needs of the developer community that hosts it. While no two events will be exactly alike, each GDG DevFest will, at its core, be powered by a shared belief that when developers come together to exchange ideas, amazing things can happen.
AngularJS is a structural framework for dynamic web apps. It lets you use HTML as your template language and lets you extend HTML's syntax to express your application's components clearly and succinctly. Angular's data binding and dependency injection eliminate much of the code you would otherwise have to write.
AngularJS was created, as a side project, in 2009 by two developers, Misko Hevery and Adam Abrons. The two originally envisioned their project, GetAngular, to be an end-to-end tool that allowed web designers to interact with both the frontend and the backend.

Android 7.0 "Nougat" is the 7th major version of the Android operating system. First released as a beta build on March 9, 2016, it was officially released on August 22, 2016, with Nexus devices being the first to receive the update.
Nougat introduces notable changes to the operating system and its development platform, including the ability to display multiple apps on-screen at once in a split-screen view, support for inline replies to notifications, as well as an OpenJDK-based Java environment and support for the Vulkan graphics rendering API, and "seamless" system updates on supported devices.

Progressive Web Apps are experiences that combine the best of the web and the best of apps. They are useful to users from the very first visit in a browser tab, no install required. As the user progressively builds a relationship with the App over time, it becomes more and more powerful. It loads quickly, even on flaky networks, sends relevant push notifications, has an icon on the home screen and loads as a top-level, full screen experience.
In 2015, Alex Russell, a web developer at Google working on Chrome Blink, have put the web tab out-of-box and turned it into the mobile application, working offline with desired personalization, and touch experiences. Alex has freed web app from packaging and deploying process on the App Store by turning the website, with right ingredients, into the mobile capable web app. He had done it progressively by adding new capabilities like personalization, place on home screen, seats into the notification tray, working offline, touch experiences, and much more in an unimaginative way.Thus, it had surpassed all constraints of the traditional web apps as well as cross-platform mobile apps by progressive enhancement and tangible improvements in a web site or web page.Therefore, Progressive Web Apps never compel users to take hard choices up front, instead, take permissions of the users for the inclusion of each new feature or functionality, over the time, and with proven experiences. Now, Progressive Web Apps have established new trends and hopes for the mobile web app users to experience native-like mobile experiences along with web advantages.

Material Design (codenamed Quantum Paper) is a design language developed in 2014 by Google. Expanding upon the "card" motifs that debuted in Google Now, Material Design makes more liberal use of grid-based layouts, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth effects such as lighting and shadows. Google announced Material Design on June 25, 2014, at the 2014 Google I/O conference.
As of 2015 most of Google's mobile applications for Android had applied the new design language, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Google Maps, Inbox, all of the Google Play-branded applications, and to a smaller extent the Chrome browser and Google Keep. The desktop web-interfaces of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Inbox have incorporated it as well.
